Things to do at the Black Lake

Crno Jezero, the Black Lake, is the most accessible glacial lake in Durmitor and the easiest way to see the massif without hiking gear. It sits roughly 2 km from Zabljak, itself around 3 hours from Kotor by road. 6 km, flat enough for families and doable in 1h30 at an easy pace.

In summer, rowing boats and kayaks can be hired at the lakeside kiosk near the main entrance, usually a few euros for 30 minutes. There is no fee to walk the loop itself. Come before mid-morning in July and August, when coach groups from Zabljak fill the car park and the first stretch of path gets crowded.
