Things to do at Our Lady of the Rocks

Our Lady of the Rocks is one of two islets facing Perast, and the only one you can land on. It is artificial: local legend traces it to the fašinada, a tradition in which fishermen and residents sink stones and old wrecks around a rock every 22 July, a custom still marked today. The islet's natural neighbour, Saint George, holds a private cemetery and stays closed to visitors.

Boats leave from Perast's quay for the short crossing, a few minutes each way, with a return ticket running around 5 EUR. The church on Our Lady of the Rocks doubles as a museum, its walls hung with silver votive plaques left by sailors giving thanks for safe passage.

Perast itself is 12 km and about 20 minutes from Kotor by road, making the islet an easy half-day add-on rather than a trip in its own right.
