Things to do in Tivat

Tivat is where most visitors actually land: the international airport (TIV) sits about 20 minutes by road from Kotor, and a rental car or transfer can have you at the town's waterfront within half an hour.

The town itself is the youngest in the Bay of Kotor, built up over the past 15 years on the site of the former Yugoslav naval shipyard, so it reads as noticeably newer and more polished than Kotor's stone old town. That makes it a practical base if you land late or fly out early, with restaurants and cafes open past the hours Kotor keeps.

Perast is a 25-minute drive around the bay, Budva is roughly 30 minutes south, and Kotor's Old Town is about 20 minutes away, so nothing here forces you to stay put for a full day.
