Things to do in Budva
Budva sits 35-40 minutes down the coast road from Kotor and runs on a different rhythm: this is where the Bay's nightlife empties out after dinner, with clubs along the beachfront and bars on the old town promenade staying loud well past midnight in July and August. The old town itself is walkable in under an hour, ringed by 15th-century Venetian walls, but most visitors come for the sand rather than the stone.
If you're choosing where to sleep, factor in the trade-off: Budva rooms run noticeably higher than Kotor in peak season, especially anything within walking distance of Mogren or Slovenska Plaza beach, and you're paying for sandy urban beaches rather than the pebble coves and quieter waterfront of the fjord.
Buses connect the two towns roughly every 30 minutes, journey time about 40 minutes, so a day trip either way is straightforward without a car.
